Las Vegas: Last weekend Engineering Express sent (3) of our top glazing experts to the GlassBuild America 2012 Expo and we had a blast  after three days of networking, business deals, new product introductions, and education at the Las Vegas Convention  Center. Nearly 6,700 attendees walked the show floor and visited more than 330 exhibitors.

As Frank L. Bennardo, P.E. stated, “We are always in awe at the continued progress made every year by the glass and glazing industries, and the end result of our staff attending this show is a stronger, more focused, and highly efficient glass and glazing design team. In this way we are able to maintain our national leadership of product evaluations and site-specific designs while continuing to sharpen the sword for our entire office staff.”

Reiterating those statements, our glazing department manager Andrew Piedra and his assistant Victor Gomez, E.I. agreed: “Many of our clients never realize how much work goes into our education and training, but we feel it’s absolutely paramount to ensure every project of ours maintains the top-notch design and customer service we’ve become nationally acclaimed for.”

With exhibitors showing everything from window and door components to machinery to decorative and flat glass products, there was something for every attendee on the show floor. Fifty exhibitors were on  hand for the first time and the Innovative Products Pavilion featured 52 firms promoting the most cutting edge technology on the market today.

The educational forums and seminars enjoyed record attendance. The Window & Door Dealers Alliance Forum, the Glazing Executives Forum, and Solar Symposium all met to packed rooms. Seminars with topics ranging from trends in decorative glass to customer service and the outlook on the commercial and residential markets were very popular as well.

GlassBuild America returns to the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia from September 10-12, 2013.
