Wind Pressure Charts For Garage Doors & Large Openings

These charts are sold as engineered sealed documents for the selected Building Code. They assist in determining the required site components & cladding wind pressures to submit for a building permit. By identifying your site design conditions on the applicable chart, the results are then compared to the limiting design pressures of the product being installed to obtain your building permit.
Garage door charts take into account larger openings which result in smaller pressures as descibed on the document.

CURRENT FLORIDA WIND VELOCITY GUIDELINES:
For residential structures (‘Risk Category II’) in Broward and Palm Beach Counties, the required wind velocity is 170mph.
For residential structures (‘Risk Category II’) in Miami-Dade County, the required wind velocity is 175mph.
If you are near the coast, it’s Exposure ‘D’; inland is Exposure ‘C’.
Additional wind velocity requirements can be verified by contacting your local Building Department or visiting the ASCE Hazard Tool.
