About Engineering Express's Building Component Design Process
Analyzing and engineering building products is complex
— But it doesn’t have to be.
With over 30 years of experience, Engineering Express has built a proven, systemized workflow that streamlines product engineering for manufacturers and the dealers who depend on it for permitting and construction.
Let’s take a closer look at the process.
Step 1: The Introductory Phase
You will agree that it’s not possible to provide a fair quote without first understanding your system and letting you select from your available options.
Engineering Express has refined this process down to a 4 hour introductory quote.
This allows us to provide you with the absolute best success plan.
What the Introducory Phase Includes
- Scoping Call - Discuss needs and goals
- Data Collection and Organization
- Preliminary Feasibility Study To Determine Options
- Summary Report For Client Consideration
The Summary report will be used to generate a quote for step 2. You can even ‘shop it around’ for quotes from other firms adding more value to this phase.
NOTE: This phase doesn’t include any other deliverables such as answers, details or calculations. That’s next.
After we complete this phase, we will provide you with a detailed quote
that includes all options discussed and agreed upon.
Step 2: Creating The Engineering Templates
From our findings in phase 1, we will send you a full outline of the work and the detailed price quote for each step.
Our true mission is to systemize your engineering needs by creating drawing and calculation templates from the information gathered.
This will set you up for the creation of useful tools to help you quote, prepare project designs, and expedite engineering time and reduce costs.
Step 3: Creating Performance Evaluations & Site-Specific Designs
With the templates in hand, we create the deliverables you need for quoting, design, and construction.
This is typically the goal of the project which you are in touch with us every step of the way to ensure your ideal solution.
Other Amazing Possibilities
Our Amazing Calculators
Imagine putting the engineering in your hands – No calling the engineer 100 times for the perfect answer, no delays in responses, and always the perfect solution.
Our calculators allow you, your dealers, or customers to interact with the systemized calculations publicly or privately to produce the ideal design – Then quickly send that to us for rapid engineering at VIP rates
Our Acclaimed Plan Store
With over 700 pre-engineered plans from dozens of manufacturers for quick certification across the US, you can be assured our full-time store support staff will expedite engineer-sealed performance evaluations to your customer, allowing their designer to use them in the permitting & construction process.
We maintain the largest building product plan store in the US with great marketing and support reach for your product.
As a bonus, we include a private-labeled engineering support channel which summarizes all your customer needs – plans, calculators, site specific designs, articles, and live support into one microsite just for you.
